Name the station in full

Koelnmesse identifies Köln Messe/Deutz as the station immediately beside its grounds. That is a more precise destination than simply Cologne. When booking, check whether your connection stops there or ends first at the main station. If you arrive at the main station, treat the onward ride or walk as a separate stage. Apparent proximity on a city map does not replace a route planned around luggage and a fixed business appointment.

Do not approach every entrance in the same way

The official arrival description links the station with the South Entrance. Other entrances used by an event may require a different onward route. Compare your invitation with the current site plan before following the general flow of visitors. Save the hall number and confirmed entrance together. If your contact has sent only a stand name, obtain the missing location details before departure instead of asking while walking between the station and venue.

Describe an outside meeting point precisely

A brief meeting point can help colleagues arriving on different trains. Describe it so that someone without admission can wait there too. ‘At the station’ is too vague when there are several exits. Use a point identifiable on the location plan and agree whether everyone will enter together or meet later at the stand. Anyone who needs registration or luggage storage should mention that beforehand, so the group does not start with conflicting expectations.

Separate city travel from venue arrival

If your hotel is on the other side of the Rhine, plan that journey separately from the approach to your event entrance. Dinner in the city centre may be another travel stage; it does not mean your morning arrival must begin there as well. Save the actual hotel destination for the return and check current connections. This keeps the choice of a suitable exhibition route independent of the sights or restaurants you may wish to visit afterwards.
