Messe München operates several event locations. Check whether your invitation actually names the exhibition grounds in Riem or another venue such as the MOC. Use the precise location in the event documents. A hotel search centred on the wrong venue cannot easily be rescued by finding a quicker connection in the morning. Compare the daily journey from your hotel or long-distance railway station only once the event location is established.
Do not treat West and East as equivalent
The official travel information names Messestadt West and Messestadt Ost stations for the exhibition grounds. Which suits your visit depends on the open entrance and first hall. Compare the event plan with the proposed connection. Getting off at the first station whose name mentions the exhibition can create an unnecessary walk. Write the selected station's full name in your arrival calendar entry rather than relying on remembering which end you intended to use.
Check transport and admission separately
Whether an admission ticket includes public transport depends on the individual event's conditions. Read them before travelling and obtain a separate transport ticket where necessary. An advertised airport shuttle is likewise not automatically available for every exhibition. Consult the current event information before making such a transfer part of a fixed itinerary or describing it to your travel group as a confirmed connection. Keep the booking details with the rest of the journey.
Allow the afternoon plan to differ
If your final appointment is in another hall area, the return journey need not start at the morning entrance. Check an appropriate open exit and the current onward connection to your hotel. For a shared taxi, use the event's designated pickup zones and communicate the exact point. The name Messe München alone is not particularly useful to someone on the other side of the grounds. A clear meeting place saves unnecessary calls immediately before departure.
